MW Lures, like many things, started with a dream, the dream of Ray Summer top-notch captain and charter boat owner/operator. Ray has a lifetime of experience fishing jigs for yellowtail and has dreamed of the perfect surface iron for a long time. He's fished irons for yellowtail everywhere, from San Diego, the Coronado Islands, to way offshore - always on the search for the ultimate yellowtail murder weapon. Ray dreamed of a surface iron that could reach way out to the furthest boils, an iron with an erratic swimming action that could be retrieved fast and still have that big wide kick the yellows can’t resist, and an iron tough enough to take a beating and keep putting fish on the deck. After a little over a year of designing and testing several different shapes and sizes for various conditions, and putting numerous fish of different species on the boat, MW Lures is proud to say we finally have the ultimate surface & Yo-Yo irons - and the only ones you need in your tackle box. Our irons are precision CNC machined to aerospace tolerances out of solid pieces of aircraft grade aluminum and brass ensuring every single one has that yellowtail killing kick. We finish them off by hand spraying with Cerakote ceramic coating, and hand soldered hooks and rings, all adding up to superior irons. All of our jigs are lifetime guaranteed not to break at the hook.
